Yoga with Latu is run by [legal name of the business or Latika's full name], [address] ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information we collect when you visit this website or join our classes, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it. By using the website or joining a class you agree to this policy.
1. What we collect
When you visit the website
- When you tap a WhatsApp button, we record which button it was, the language you were reading in, the ad or link that brought you here (UTM tags) and your browser type. We do not store your name, phone number or IP address with this.
- Meta Pixel and Google Analytics, if switched on, collect visit statistics such as pages viewed, device and approximate location, using cookies. Meta and Google handle this data under their own privacy policies.
- Your browser remembers your language and light or dark theme choice. This stays on your device and is never sent to us.
When you contact us or join a class
- Your name, phone number and the messages you send us on WhatsApp.
- What you tell us in the health form: age, health conditions, injuries, medicines, period cycle, weight and measurements. This is sensitive information and we treat it with extra care.
- Your class attendance and the progress notes we make to correct your practice.
- Payment details such as the UPI ID or transaction reference. We never see or store your card or bank login details; those stay with the payment app or [payment provider].
- Your video and voice during live classes, and in class recordings (see section 4).
2. Why we use it
- To run your trial and classes, and choose asanas that are safe for your health.
- To correct your practice, track your progress and reply to your messages.
- To confirm payments and keep the accounts that the law requires.
- To learn which ads and pages bring students to us, so we can improve the website.
We use your information only with your consent, which you give when you fill in the health form, message us or join a class, or where the law requires us to keep it. You can withdraw your consent at any time (see section 6). If you do, we may no longer be able to teach you safely.
3. Who we share it with
We never sell your information or share your health details for advertising. We only share it with:
- WhatsApp (Meta), which carries our messages.
- Zoom or Google Meet, which run our live classes.
- [Payment provider] and your bank or UPI app, to process payments.
- Meta and Google, for the website statistics described above.
- [Hosting provider], which hosts this website and its database.
- Government authorities, only when the law requires it.
Some of these companies store data outside India. They are bound by their own privacy and security terms.
4. Class recordings
We record live classes so that students who miss a class can catch up. Recordings are shared only with the students of that batch, are never posted publicly or used in ads, and are deleted after [number] days. If you do not want to appear in a recording, tell us on WhatsApp before class. Students must not record or share classes themselves.
5. How long we keep it and how we protect it
- Health form and progress notes: while you are a student, then deleted within [number] months.
- Payment records: as long as tax law requires, usually 8 years.
- WhatsApp button statistics: [number] months.
Only Latika can see your health form and progress notes. We keep them in [where the health form is stored], protected by a password and two-step login. If a data breach affects you, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
6. Your rights
You can ask us to:
- Show you what information we hold about you.
- Correct or update anything that is wrong.
- Delete your information, unless the law requires us to keep it.
- Stop using your information, by withdrawing your consent.
- Name someone who can use these rights for you if you are unable to.
You can turn off website cookies in your browser settings, or opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
7. Children
Our classes are for adults aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
8. Contact and complaints
To use any of these rights or raise a concern, message us on WhatsApp or email [email protected]. We will reply within [number] days. Our grievance officer is [name], [email]. If you are not satisfied with our reply, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
9. Changes to this policy
We will update this page if anything changes and change the date at the top. If the change is important, we will also tell current students on WhatsApp. See also our Terms and Refund Policy.
